Every newborn is unique, but there are ideal times for different types of photos. This guide will help you navigate those perfect moments. Whether you're planning ahead or your baby is already in your arms, you're in the right place.
The Ideal 5–14 Day Window -
Sleepy Newborn Poses in London
Often called the "sleepy newborn stage", this window (between 5 and 14 days after birth) is ideal for gently posed photos.
Babies tend to be sleepier, curlier, and easier to position naturally and safely.
It’s also when those fleeting details—soft wrinkles, tiny toes, and peaceful expressions—are most evident.
If you're still expecting: I recommend reserving your session during pregnancy, ideally from 20 weeks onward. We’ll pencil in your due date and confirm the session time once your baby arrives.
Capturing Beautiful 'Awake & Curious' Newborn Photos (3–6 Weeks)
Beyond Two Weeks: Still Beautiful, Just a Bit Different
Did life move quickly after birth? That’s okay.
From around 3 to 6 weeks, your baby may be more alert and curious. This is what I call the "awake and connected" stage—where photos are a little more natural, expressive, and emotion-led.
While they may not curl up quite the same way, we capture:

Sessions are relaxed and baby-led. I always follow your baby's rhythm—whether they need a feed, a pause, or extra cuddles.

Addressing Skin Blemishes in Your Baby's Portraits
Little Flakes, Redness or Baby Acne? No Stress.
Newborn skin is wonderfully delicate—and often imperfect. It’s common to see:

I photograph your baby in soft, natural light and flattering angles.
