No. It does not need to be large or styled for a photoshoot. Paola will quickly see which spaces, light and compositions are worth using. And if your home has beautiful light, architecture, a cosy garden or details you love, she can let more of them into the portrait.

Do I need lots of natural light for maternity photos at home?

Not necessarily. Paola has extensive experience working with professional light to bring out the best in each portrait. The session does not depend on having a particularly bright home.

Which parts of the house will we use for the photos?

Only the parts of the home that earn their place in the portrait. That may be a bedroom, living room, hallway, window or simply one corner with the right proportions, light or atmosphere. Paola will guide you towards what will photograph most strongly.

Should I prepare my home before the session?

Very little. Small adjustments in the areas being photographed are usually enough. Paola can help decide what is worth moving, keeping or leaving exactly as it is.

Can my partner, children or pets be included?

Yes. At home, they can become part of the photographs very naturally. The session remains centred on you, with your partner, children or pets included where they add something to the portrait and to the story of this time.

Where in London do you offer at-home maternity photoshoots?

Paola photographs at-home maternity sessions across Greater London, with particular focus on South West, Central and West London. If you like to keep things local, Pennypics is based in Clapham, South West London. Studio maternity sessions take place separately in Kennington.

What happens after my at-home maternity photoshoot?

After the session, Paola individually refines your photographs before your private selection preview. One finished photographic portrait, professionally presented in a 16×12 inch archival mount, is included with your commission. You can then select and purchase any additional portraits and printed pieces you would like to keep. There is no minimum purchase.
